The game had a very big importance for second-ranked Sopron KC as it allowed them to take a leadership position. Sopron KC smashed 11th ranked Marso NYKK at home 101-65. The game without a history. Sopron KC led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 62 of its points in the paint compared to Marso NYKK's 32. They outrebounded Marso NYKK 37-19 including 26 on the defensive glass. Sopron KC looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Marso NYKK's players. It was a good game for American guard Mario Edwards (191-88, college: Co.Carolina) who led his team to a victory with 20 points and 5 assists. Croatian center Matija Poscic (206-85, college: De Paul) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Poscic is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five Sopron KC players scored in double figures. Sopron KC's coach Balazs Sabali felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Bosnian power forward Nermin Hujdurovic (205-88) replied with 20 points and Serbian power forward Marko Kolaric (212-84, college: Chaminade) added 14 points in the effort for Marso NYKK. As mentioned above they are alone now at the top position. Marso NYKK lost third consecutive game. They keep the eleventh place with 12 games lost. Marso NYKK will play next round against Kaposvari trying to get back on the winning streak. Sopron KC will try to continue on its current victory against eighth ranked Alba in Szekesfehervar.
