Neuchatel led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Neuchatel outrebounded Monthey 43-21 including a 31-14 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a quality performance of Senegalese power forward Babacar Toure (205-85) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points, 16 rebounds and 5 blocks (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) and Senegalese power forward Pape Badji (208-92) who added 20 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. Four Neuchatel players scored in double figures. At the losing side American point guard Rodney Glasgow (178-92, college: VMI) responded with 18 points and international swingman Cedric Mafuta (192-84) scored 11 points. Neuchatel (13-4) have an impressive six-game winning streak. They maintain first position, which they share with Geneve Lions. Monthey lost sixth consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with 13 games lost. They share the position with Massagno. Neuchatel will meet bottom-ranked Boncourt (#8) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Monthey will play against Massagno and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
