Regular Season Round 25: Sojuz Zaretchny - Neftekhimik T. 80-49

Very predictable result when second ranked Sojuz Zaretchny (17-4) smashed at home 7th ranked Neftekhimik T. (9-14) 80-49 on Friday. Sojuz Zaretchny forced 19 Neftekhimik T. turnovers and outrebounded them 46-31 including 35 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists comparing to just 5 passes made by Neftekhimik T.'s players. Vladimir Okorokov (196-92) stepped up and scored 14 points and 5 rebounds for the winners and power forward Stanislav Sarafankin (195-93) chipped in 10 points and 8 rebounds. Sojuz Zaretchny's coach Aleksandr Drankov felt very confident that he used 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. At the losing side center Mikhail Kautin (214-86) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 rebounds (made all of his eleven free throws !!!) and point guard Gleb Beygelzimer (183-87) scored 13 points and 4 steals. Sojuz Zaretchny maintains second place in League with 17-4 record having 2 victories less than leader Cheliabinsk. Loser Neftekhimik T. keeps the seventh position with 14 games lost. Sojuz Zaretchny will face again Neftekhimik T. (#7) in Tobolsk in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game.
