Regular Season Round 27: Stary Sobol NT - Samara-2 70-67

A very close game took place in Nizhny Tagil between Stary Sobol NT and Samara-2. Eighth ranked Stary Sobol NT (8-18) got a very close home victory over 6th ranked Samara-2 (12-10). Stary Sobol NT managed to escape with a 3-point win 70-67 on Monday evening. It was an exceptional evening for power forward Aleksey Vagner (204-83) who led the winners and scored 20 points and 7 rebounds. Center Aleksandr Vertelov (205-91) accounted for 9 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side. Guard Sergey Rasskazov (193-92) came up with 14 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Evgeniy Kusakin (184-92) added 11 points respectively for Samara-2 in the defeat. Samara-2's coach Igor Gratchev tried various players' combinations and tested in total eleven players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Stary Sobol NT maintains eighth place in League with 8-18 record. Loser Samara-2 keeps the sixth position with ten games lost. Stary Sobol NT will again meet at home higher ranked Samara-2 (#6) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Samara-2 will have a break next round.
