Not a big story in a game when 9th ranked BK 1716 (6-20) was defeated on the road by second ranked Sojuz Zaretchny (20-4) 73-68 on Wednesday. However just five-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Sojuz Zaretchny outrebounded BK 1716 49-36 including 36 on the defensive glass. Center Anton Lanchakov (202-85) fired a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds for the winners. Power forward Stanislav Sarafankin (195-93) chipped in 15 points and 7 rebounds. Sojuz Zaretchny maintains second position in League with 20-4 record having just two points less than leader Cheliabinsk. Loser BK 1716 dropped to the tenth place with 20 games lost. Sojuz Zaretchny will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. BK 1716 will play against Neftekhimik T. (#7) and hope to secure a win.
