Regular Season Round 25: MBA-Dynamo - Neftyanik 59-56

Eighth-ranked Neftyanik (9-15) gave a tough game to fifth ranked MBA-Dynamo (13-13) in Moscow on Thursday. MBA-Dynamo managed to secure only three-point victory 59-56. However their fans expected easier game. MBA-Dynamo made 19-of-22 free shots (86.4 percent) during the game. They also forced 22 Neftyanik turnovers. Strangely Neftyanik outrebounded MBA-Dynamo 37-25 including 22 on the defensive glass. Ekaterina Sytnyak (184-82, agency: LBM Management) stepped up and scored 12 points and 5 rebounds (made all of her ten free throws !!!) for the winners and Anna Leshovceva (182-87) chipped in 12 points. At the losing side swingman Yana Matveeva (186-92) responded with 6 points and 13 rebounds and Elena Elgina scored 14 points. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. MBA-Dynamo moved-up to fourth place. Neftyanik lost third consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with 15 games lost. MBA-Dynamo are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Irtysh (#10) in Pavlograd in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Neftyanik will play on the road against the league's second-placed Ladoga SP in St.Petersburg and is hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series.
