Ninth-ranked MTK (3-12) made lots of trouble for third ranked PINKK-Pecsi (11-4) in Budapest. The visitors from Pecs managed to secure only eight-point victory 103-95. However their fans expected much easier game. MTK was ahead by 5 points after three quarters before a 23-18 charge of PINKK-Pecsi, which allowed them to tie the game at the end of regular time. They were better in overtime eventually winning that period 15-7. PINKK-Pecsi dominated down low during the game scoring 76 of its points in the paint compared to MTK's 46 and made 18-of-19 charity shots (94.7 percent) during the game. PINKK-Pecsi brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. MTK was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of British center Azania Stewart (195-89, college: Florida, agency: Josep and Nicolas) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 22 points, 12 rebounds and 6 blocks. Swedish center Louice Halvarsson (189-89, agency: Josep and Nicolas) contributed with 24 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Guard Dora Medgyessy (174-86) replied with 29 points and 8 assists and the former international power forward Nikoletta Turoczi (187-80) added 21 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for MTK. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Defending champion moved-up to second place, which they share with UNI Gyor. MTK at the other side keeps the ninth position with 12 games lost. PINKK-Pecsi will play against Miskolc (#4) on the road in the next round. MTK will play against Atomeromu (#7) in Szekszard and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
