There was no surprise when 5th ranked PVSK Pannon (12-9) was defeated on the road by second ranked Sopron KC (17-3) 80-64 on Sunday. The game without a history. Sopron KC led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Sopron KC outrebounded PVSK Pannon 40-25 including a 30-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great evening for American guard Mario Edwards (191-88, college: Co.Carolina, agency: Mansfield and Associates) who led his team to a victory scoring 15 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. Croatian center Matija Poscic (206-85, college: De Paul) helped adding 12 points and 12 rebounds. Poscic is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Five Sopron KC players scored in double figures. Power forward Balint Horti (204-89) responded with 17 points and 5 rebounds and American guard Anthony Nelson (185-89, college: Niagara) scored 15 points and 5 rebounds. The victory was the third consecutive win for Sopron KC. They maintain second place with 17-3 record having just -1 point less than leader Atomeromu. Loser PVSK Pannon keeps the fifth position with nine games lost. They share it with Kaposvari. Sopron KC will meet Falco KC (#4) in the next round. PVSK Pannon will play against Kaposvari and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
