Regular Season Round 27: Gloria Moscow - Kazanochka 65-62

The most exciting game of round 27 in the Superleague took place in Moscow. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 5th ranked Kazanochka (14-10) to fourth ranked Gloria Moscow (14-12) 65-62 on Monday evening. Gloria Moscow forced 19 Kazanochka turnovers and outrebounded them 51-33 including a 21-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a good game for center Ekaterina Troshina (195-81) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 13 rebounds. Elena Petukhova contributed with 12 points for the winners. Forward Olga Sizyakova (186-88) answered with 17 points and 7 rebounds and the former international forward Viktoriya Plotnikova (181-85) added 17 points and 5 assists in the effort for Kazanochka. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Gloria Moscow have a solid series of four victories in a row. Despite that victory Gloria Moscow went down to fifth position due to points difference. Kazanochka at the other side dropped to the third place with ten games lost. They share the position with Voronezh. Gloria Moscow will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Kazanochka will play at home against MBA-Dynamo and is hoping to prove to their supporters that this time they can win.
