Regular Season Round 29: MBA-Runa - Tambov 73-64

Round 29 in Higher League means a new league leader. The biggest surprise took place in Moscow where host MBA-Runa (8-19) beat league's leader Tambov (20-5) 73-64 on Monday evening. The best player for the winners was power forward Alexander Tikhonin (205-92) who scored 16 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Guard Andrey Lysenkov (189-92) chipped in 13 points and 7 rebounds. Four MBA-Runa players scored in double figures. Guard Maksim Kuznetsov (188-90) produced 22 points and 4 steals and swingman Ivan Gavrilov (199-85) added 16 points and 6 rebounds respectively for the guests. Newly promoted MBA-Runa maintains ninth place in League with 8-19 record. Tambov at the other side dropped to the second position with five games lost. They were replaced at the leadership position by Sojuz Zaretchny. Tambov will play next round against Kamit-Univ. trying to make it back to the top of the standings. MBA-Runa will try to continue on its current victory against first ranked Sojuz Zaretchny at home.
