There was no surprise in Pecs where 13th ranked MAFC (3-20) was defeated by sixth ranked PVSK Pannon (13-10) 86-73 on Wednesday. The game was mostly controlled by PVSK Pannon. MAFC was better in second period 25-18. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They made 16-of-19 free shots (84.2 percent) during the game. PVSK Pannon outrebounded MAFC 45-29 including 16 on the offensive glass. The best player for the winners was Croatian forward Veljko Budimir (199-85) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 rebounds. American guard Anthony Nelson (185-89, college: Niagara) chipped in 15 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. American forward Ricardo Glenn (203-90, college: USC Upstate, agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) produced a double-double by scoring 17 points and 15 rebounds and his fellow American import forward Neiko Hunter (201-90, college: Middle Tenn.St., agency: Pro Partner Sports Management) added 16 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the guests. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. MAFC's coach Stefan Timbus tested ten players in this game, but that didn't help. PVSK Pannon maintains sixth position with 13-10 record. MAFC lost fourteenth consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay dead last with 20 lost games. PVSK Pannon will face Szedeak (#8) in Szeged in the next round. MAFC will play at home against Sopron KC (#3) and hope to win that game.
