No shocking result in a game when second ranked BC Rostov (22-9) beat at home 6th ranked Samara (15-16) 68-57. BC Rostov forced 25 Samara turnovers and outrebounded them 46-28 including a 28-17 advantage in defensive rebounds. Center Elena Kharchenko (196-83, agency: LBM Management) scored 17 points and 9 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and forward Yana Kotova (187-88) chipped in 8 points and 16 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side Ekaterina Kulkova responded with 14 points and point guard Evgenia Oksner (165-90) scored 8 points and 4 assists. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. BC Rostov have a solid three-game winning streak. BC Rostov maintains second position with 22-9 record having six points less than leader Ladoga SP. Samara lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the sixth place with 16 games lost. BC Rostov will again play against Samara (#6) at home in the next round. Samara will have a break next round.
