Regular Season Round 37: AltajBasket - Ryazan 93-90

A very interesting game took place in Barnau. It ended with only three-point defeat on the road of higher ranked Ryazan (15-10) to twelfth ranked AltajBasket (10-15) 93-90 on Monday evening. It was quite big embarassment for the guest team. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Ryazan. AltajBasket made 37-of-47 charity shots (78.7 percent) during the game. They outrebounded Ryazan 40-29 including 17 on the offensive glass. 29 personal fouls committed by Ryazan helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Lithuanian point guard Linas Lekavicius (186-84, college: American) nailed 18 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side and swingman Vladimir Shevel (200-84, agency: Alti Sport) accounted for 22 points (made all of his eight free throws). AltajBasket's coach Evgeni Chizhov used entire bench in such tough game. Guard Dramir Zibirov (187-86) came up with 28 points and 7 rebounds and center Aleksey Karpeko (204-89) added 15 points and 10 rebounds respectively for Ryazan in the defeat. Four Ryazan players scored in double figures. AltajBasket maintains twelfth place with 10-15 record. Ryazan at the other side dropped to the seventh position with ten games lost. AltajBasket's next round opponent will be MBA Moscow (#15) at home.
