Very predictable result when second ranked Samara-SGEU (18-8) smashed at home 14th ranked Izhevsk (7-18) 108-75. Samara-SGEU dominated down low during the game scoring 66 of its points in the paint compared to Izhevsk's 32. Samara-SGEU forced 24 Izhevsk turnovers and outrebounded them 39-24 including 24 on the defensive glass. It was a great shooting night for Samara-SGEU especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 56.3 percentage. It was an exceptional evening for Ukrainian guard Oleksii Shchepkin (191-89) who led the winners and scored 19 points and 5 assists (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Forward Igor Samsonov (202-89) accounted for 22 points for the winning side. Five Samara-SGEU players scored in double figures. Samara-SGEU's coach Sergei Zozulin felt very confident that he used entire bench saving starting five for next games. Forward Vladimir Belov (207-84) came up with 20 points and guard Aleksandr Kuznetsov (191-84) added 13 points respectively for Izhevsk in the defeat. Samara-SGEU have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain second place with 18-8 record behind leader Parma. Newly promoted Izhevsk keeps the fourteenth position with 18 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
