There was no surprise when 9th ranked Magnitka-Univ. (7-27) was defeated on the road by sixth ranked Samara-2 (16-18) 92-87 on Tuesday. Samara-2 made 23-of-27 free shots (85.2 percent) during the game. It was a great evening for Aleksey Chilikin (208-93) who led his team to a victory scoring 32 points and 7 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line). Point guard Vasily Martynov (185-95) helped adding 16 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists. Samara-2's coach Igor Gratchev used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. The best for the losing side was center Sergei Dubinin (206-85) with 22 points and Dmitriy Logunov scored 16 points and 7 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Samara-2 maintains sixth place in League with 16-18 record. Newly promoted Magnitka-Univ. keeps the ninth position with 27 games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
