Regular Season Round 40: Dynamo-CBK - Neftekhimik T. 72-71

Sixth-ranked Neftekhimik T. (14-21) was very close to win a game against fifth ranked Dynamo-CBK (19-16) in Stavropol on Wednesday. Dynamo-CBK managed to secure only one-point victory 72-71. However their fans expected easier game. Dynamo-CBK looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Aleksey Ostrovskiy (202-93) who helped to win the game recording 16 points and 7 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). Power forward Rostislav Karenin (202-94) contributed with 14 points and 6 assists for the winners. Four Dynamo-CBK players scored in double figures. Dynamo-CBK's coach Maxim Sharafan used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Forward Valentin Shumakov (205-87) replied with 18 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Denis Smetanin (200-88) added 22 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Neftekhimik T.Dynamo-CBK have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain fifth position with 19-16 record. Neftekhimik T. at the other side dropped to the seventh place with 21 games lost. Dynamo-CBK are looking forward to face BK 1716 (#8) in Omsk in the next round. Neftekhimik T. will play on the road against Elbrus Cherk. in Cherkessk and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
