Second Stage Round 6: KTE-Duna Aszfalt - Sopron KC 72-47

An interesting game for KTE-Duna Aszfalt (3-3) which hosted in Kecskemet one of their biggest challengers Sopron KC (2-4). Second ranked KTE-Duna Aszfalt had an easy win 72-47. The game was mostly controlled by KTE-Duna Aszfalt. Sopron KC was better in second period 17-12. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Sopron KC to just 5 points in first quarter. They outrebounded Sopron KC 47-35 including 36 on the defensive glass. It was a good game for Montenegrin power forward Filip Barovic (207-90) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field). American point guard James Kinney (188-90, college: San Jose St.) contributed with 10 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners. International point guard Dontay Thomas (187-84, college: La Salle) replied with 17 points and 5 assists and Montenegrin swingman Milos Borisov (198-85, agency: Laszlo Vinko Group) added 12 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Sopron KC. Sopron KC's coach Balazs Sabali gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Despite that victory KTE-Duna Aszfalt went down to third position (Division) due to points difference. Loser Sopron KC dropped to the fifth place with four games lost. KTE-Duna Aszfalt will face league's leader Kaposvari at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week.
