Second Stage Round 7: Atomeromu - Szolnok 82-73

Very important is a road loss of second ranked Szolnok (4-4) against fourth ranked Atomeromu (3-3) on Wednesday night. Visiting Szolnok was defeated by Atomeromu in a tough game in Paks 73-82. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Szolnok won third quarter 24-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Atomeromu shot the lights out from three nailing 16 long-distance shots on high 57.1 percentage. It was an exceptional evening for the former international forward Zsolt Szabo (202-86, agency: Laszlo Vinko Group) who led the winners and scored 20 points and 8 rebounds. Point guard Akos Kovacs (183-88) accounted for 21 points and 5 assists for the winning side. Serbian forward Strahinja Milosevic (203-85, agency: Laszlo Vinko Group) came up with 17 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and American point guard Lazeric Jones (182-90, college: UCLA) added 13 points, 5 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals respectively for Szolnok in the defeat. Five Szolnok players scored in double figures. Atomeromu maintains fourth place in Division with 3-3 record. Defending champion Szolnok dropped to the third position with four games lost. Atomeromu will play against league's second-placed Kaposvari on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Szolnok will play against Sopron KC and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
