Second Stage Round 7: Szedeak - Kormend 106-91

Rather predictable result in Szeged where third ranked Szedeak (16-15) defeated 5th ranked Kormend (13-7) 106-91 on Wednesday. It was a very close game until the last quarter, when Szedeak's pressure prevailed and they won that period 28-20 extending their advantage to 15 points. They shot 61.5 percent from the field. Szedeak looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Serbian center Darko Balaban (211-89) fired a double-double by scoring 28 points and 11 rebounds for the winners. Serbian point guard Branko Jereminov (187-87) chipped in a double-double by scoring 16 points and 13 assists. American point guard Will Walker (183-87, college: De Paul, agency: Octagon Europe) produced 26 points and 5 assists and British power forward Ryan Richards (212-91, agency: Three Eye Sports) added 16 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Szedeak maintains third place in Division with 16-15 record having just one point less than leader Falco KC. Loser Kormend keeps the fifth position with seven games lost. Szedeak will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Kormend will play against the league's leader Falco KC (#1) and hope to secure a win.
