Regular Season Round 4: Rostov - UMMC Junior 77-73

Very important is a road loss of second ranked UMMC Junior (2-2) against ninth ranked BC Rostov (1-1) on Saturday night. Visiting UMMC Junior was defeated by BC Rostov in a tough game in Rostov 73-77. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of UMMC Junior. They outrebounded UMMC Junior 47-30 including 19 on the offensive glass. UMMC Junior was plagued by 29 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of center Lyudmila Khmeleva (193-94) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 15 points and 19 rebounds and forward Yana Kotova (186-88) who added 14 points and 12 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side forward Anastasiya Litovchenko (188-96) responded with 12 points and 5 rebounds and forward Daria Shomodi (184-95) scored 10 points and 8 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. It was the only win of host team this round and in all other games visitors recorded victories. BC Rostov left bottom position moving up to fifth place, which they share with Stavropol. UMMC Junior at the other side dropped to the third position with two games lost. They share it with MBA-2. BC Rostov will play against league's second-placed Voronezh-SKIF on the road in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. UMMC Junior will have a break next round.
