Sojuz Zaretchny can celebrate their first win this season after three consecutive loses. The victory is especially important as they edged much higher ranked Arsenal (2-2) 72-69 on Wednesday. Sojuz Zaretchny forced 26 Arsenal turnovers. Strangely Arsenal outrebounded Sojuz Zaretchny 39-27 including 29 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of point guard Vladimir Chichaykin (187-91) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and 5 steals and power forward Stanislav Sarafankin (195-93) who added 15 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. At the losing side Dmitriy Babushkin responded with 17 points and 7 rebounds and Stanislav Dubinin (196-90) scored 14 points and 9 rebounds. Sojuz Zaretchny (1-3) left bottom position moving up to sixth place, which they share with Dynamo-CBK and Cheliabinsk. Arsenal at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the fifth position with two games lost. Sojuz Zaretchny will meet at home Dynamo-CBK (#7) in the next round. Arsenal will play against the league's second-placed Tambov and hope to secure a win.
