Regular Season Round 5: Tambov - Arsenal 69-81

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of Tambov (4-1) at the home court on Saturday night. Hosts were defeated by fifth ranked Arsenal (3-2) 81-69. It ended at the same time the four-game winning streak of Tambov. Point guard Artur Uskov (178-91) orchestrated the victory by scoring 14 points and 6 assists. Forward Mikhail Yudov (199-89) contributed with 16 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Arsenal's coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. point guard Georgiy Kaminskiy (182-87) answered with 13 points and 8 assists and forward Mikhail Filimonov (204-84) added 16 points in the effort for Tambov. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Arsenal moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Spartak SP. Tambov at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the second position with one game lost. Arsenal will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Tambov will play again at home against Arsenal and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
