Superleague B top team - AltajBasket (8-0) had no problems winning another game on Wednesday. This time they beat eleventh ranked Stroitiel Engels (2-4) in Barnau 71-55. AltajBasket made 16-of-20 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. AltajBasket outrebounded Stroitiel Engels 40-27 including 30 on the defensive glass. The winners were led by Ilia Aleksandrov (194-81) who scored that evening 22 points and forward Konstantin Novikov (202-87) supported him with 10 points and 13 rebounds. Four AltajBasket players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 17 points and 11 rebounds by power forward Aleksandr Zaykin (206-84) did not help to save the game for Stroitiel Engels. Aleksandr Podosinnikov (200-85) added 17 points for the guests. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. AltajBasket have an impressive eight-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 8-0 record. Stroitiel Engels lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team stay at the bottom place with four games lost. They share the position with Cheboksari. AltajBasket will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Stroitiel Engels will play against Cheliabinsk (#6) and hope to secure a win.
