Regular Season Round 7: Rusichi K. - Magnitka-Univ. 82-61

Bottom-ranked Magnitka-Univ. (0-6) tried to put together a comeback for its first victory of the season, but they fell short in the 82-61 loss to fourth ranked Rusichi K. (4-2) in Kursk. They also forced 28 Magnitka-Univ. turnovers. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 22 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Magnitka-Univ.'s players. Magnitka-Univ. was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Nikolay Zavyalov (188-91) who helped to win the game recording 18 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. Forward Anton Belov (202-81) contributed with a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Four Rusichi K. players scored in double figures. Swingman Yegor Tikanov (194-92) answered with 13 points and 6 rebounds and forward Ivan Dudnik (196-94) added 12 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Magnitka-Univ.The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Rusichi K. have a solid series of four victories in a row. Newly promoted Rusichi K. maintains fourth place with 4-2 record. Magnitka-Univ. at the other side still closes the standings with six games lost. Rusichi K. will play against Stary Sobol NT (#5) in Nizhny Tagil in the next round. Magnitka-Univ. will play on the road against Sogdiana-Skif (#6) in Voronezh and hopes to get finally their first victory.
