Regular Season Round 6: Kazanochka - MBA 51-59

There was no surprise when 11th ranked Kazanochka (1-6) was defeated at home by eighth ranked MBA (3-4) 59-51 on Thursday. MBA outrebounded Kazanochka 48-33 including a 33-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Center Olga Gorbacheva (192-88, agency: LBM Management) had a double-double by scoring 14 points and 12 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Ekaterina Sytnyak (185-82, agency: LBM Management) chipped in 16 points and 7 rebounds during the contest. MBA's coach Aleksandr Diracujan allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. The best for the losing side was American guard Kelia Shelton (173-91, college: Louisiana Tech) with 12 points and 7 rebounds and her fellow American import power forward Sarah Boothe (195-90, college: Stanford) scored 6 points and 8 rebounds. MBA moved-up to seventh place. Kazanochka lost third consecutive game. Kazanochka at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the eleventh position with six games lost. MBA will meet Energy Ivanovo (#8) on the road in the next round. Kazanochka will have a break next round.
