Regular Season Round 7: PINKK-Pecsi - ELTE-BEAC 89-48

Bottom-ranked BEAC-Ujbuda is still unable to win any game. This time they lost on the road their seventh consecutive match to sixth ranked PINKK-Pecsi (4-3) 89-48. The game was mostly controlled by PINKK-Pecsi. BEAC-Ujbuda was better in fourth quarter 22-21. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding BEAC-Ujbuda to just 6 points in third quarter. PINKK-Pecsi dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to BEAC-Ujbuda's 28. It was a great evening for Swedish forward Binta Drammeh (180-92) who led her team to a victory scoring 18 points and 9 rebounds (made all of her seven free throws). British power forward Chantelle Handy (188-87, college: Marshall) helped adding 17 points. Four PINKK-Pecsi players scored in double figures. At the losing side power forward Judit Barnai (190-94) responded with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 12 rebounds and forward Krisztina Sule (178-87) scored 14 points. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. PINKK-Pecsi moved-up to fifth place, which they share with PEAC-Pecs. Newly promoted BEAC-Ujbuda still closes the standings with seven games lost. PINKK-Pecsi will play against league's second-placed Cegledi EKK at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. BEAC-Ujbuda's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Budapest to the arena Vasas Akademia.
