Regular Season Round 13: Arsenal - AltajBasket 50-77

Leader AltajBasket delivered the tenth victory on Friday night. This time they crushed 8th ranked Arsenal (4-9) 77-50 in Tula. AltajBasket forced 29 Arsenal turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Forward Konstantin Novikov (202-87) stepped up and scored 20 points and 9 rebounds for the winners and Ilia Aleksandrov (194-81) chipped in 16 points. AltajBasket's coach Mikhail Terekhov felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side forward Mikhail Yudov (199-89) responded with 12 points and 8 rebounds and point guard Kirill Sokolov (192-93) scored 12 points. AltajBasket maintains first place with 10-1 record, which they share with Ruskon-Mord. Arsenal lost their fourth game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the eighth position with nine games lost. They share it with Jaroslav. AltajBasket will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Arsenal will play again against the league's leader AltajBasket (#1) and hope to secure a win.
