The game in Jaroslav was also quite interesting. Fourth ranked Cheboksari (7-5) played at the court of 8th ranked Jaroslav (4-10). Cheboksari managed to secure a 9-point victory 79-70 on Saturday. Cheboksari dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Jaroslav's 28. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Nikolay Dolmatov notched 26 points and 7 rebounds to lead the effort and center Anton Lanchakov (202-85) supported him with 13 points and 9 rebounds. Even 17 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists by point guard Aleksandr Amelin (184-88) did not help to save the game for Jaroslav. Forward Alexander Fomin (206-86, agency: Interperformances) added 21 points and 7 rebounds for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Newly promoted Cheboksari maintains fourth position with 7-5 record. Jaroslav at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the ninth place with ten games lost. Cheboksari will meet at home Arsenal (#8) in the next round. Jaroslav will play against Stroitiel Engels and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
