Regular Season Round 15: MBA-2 - Stavropol 67-55

There was no surprise in Moscow where 8th ranked Stavropol (3-8) was defeated by fourth ranked MBA-2 (7-4) 67-55. MBA-2 forced 20 Stavropol turnovers and outrebounded them 46-28 including a 31-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for forward Svetlana Gorshkova (176-97) who led the winners and scored 7 points and 12 rebounds. Olga Aksenova (187-96) accounted for 9 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side. MBA-2's coach Alexander Mikhaylyuk used entire bench and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Power forward Natalja Gvozdeva (191-77) came up with 17 points and 7 rebounds and Natalya Kapalet (180-93) added 11 points and 6 assists respectively for Stavropol in the defeat. MBA-2 have a solid series of three victories in a row. They moved-up to third place. Stavropol lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with eight games lost. MBA-2's next round opponent will be again Stavropol (#8) at home which should be theoretically an easy game.
