Regular Season Round 15: Stroitiel Engels - Jaroslav 98-72

Bottom-ranked Stroitiel Engels managed to get the second consecutive victory on Tuesday night. This time newly promoted Stroitiel Engels outleveled ninth-ranked Jaroslav 98-72. It's especially surprising that the victory came too easily and 26-point difference suggests that Stroitiel Engels is in a good shape to leave the bottom place. They dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Jaroslav's 40. They outrebounded Jaroslav 39-22 including a 32-12 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Stroitiel Engels especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.4 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 34 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Jaroslav's players. It was a great evening for power forward Aleksandr Zaykin (206-84) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points, 19 rebounds and 5 assists. Swingman Pavel Zhukanenko (194-86) helped adding 22 points and 8 assists. The best for the losing side was forward Alexander Fomin (206-86, agency: Interperformances) with 15 points and 5 rebounds and point guard Igor Sukhinin (188-81) scored 14 points. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Stroitiel Engels (6-7) moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Tambov. Jaroslav at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the ninth position with 11 games lost. Stroitiel Engels is again looking forward to face Jaroslav (#9) at home in the next round. Jaroslav will have a break next round.
