Regular Season Round 8: Vasas Akademia - ELTE-BEAC 49-69

BEAC-Ujbuda has finally registered their first victory this season after seven consecutive losses. The win is especially important as it came on the road game in Budapest, where they outplayed Vasas Akademia (1-7) 69-49 on Saturday. The game without a history. BEAC-Ujbuda led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. BEAC-Ujbuda forced 20 Vasas Akademia turnovers. The best player for the winners was power forward Judit Barnai (190-94) who had a double-double by scoring 18 points and 15 rebounds. Forward Krisztina Sule (178-87) chipped in 20 points. Polish guard Katarzyna Cymmer (172-89) produced 10 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Lilla Adamecz (182-92) added 12 points and 8 rebounds respectively for the hosts. BEAC-Ujbuda left bottom position moving up to eighth place, which they share with ZTE NKK and Vasas Akademia. It was Vasas Akademia's fifth loss in a row. BEAC-Ujbuda will meet at home higher ranked UNI Gyor (#4) in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Vasas Akademia will play against PINKK-Pecsi (#5) and hope to win that game.
