Bottom-ranked Stavropol managed to get a fourth victory, breaking the series of five consecutive losses. This time they won against eighth-ranked Ladoga SP in St.Petersburg 58-53. They outrebounded Ladoga SP 42-29 including 34 on the defensive glass. Stavropol brought some defensive toughness making 8 blocks. Power forward Natalja Gvozdeva (191-77) nailed 7 points, 18 rebounds and 5 blocks for the winning side and guard Svetlana Kuznetsova (174-75) accounted for 23 points. Forward Ekaterina Posylkina (183-93) came up with 23 points and guard Nadezhda Burenkova (174-90) added 11 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Ladoga SP in the defeat. Stavropol (4-9) moved-up to eighth place, which they share with Sparta&K-2 V. Ladoga SP at the other side dropped to the bottom position with ten games lost. Stavropol will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Ladoga SP will play again at home against Stavropol (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
