Regular Season Round 17: Ruskon-Mord. - Arsenal 101-61

Superleague 2 top team - Ruskon-Mordovia (14-1) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed eighth ranked Arsenal (6-11) in Saransk 101-61. Ruskon-Mordovia dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Arsenal's 34 and made 23-of-26 free shots (88.5 percent) during the game, while Arsenal only scored six points from the stripe. Ruskon-Mordovia forced 22 Arsenal turnovers and outrebounded them 48-26 including a 33-20 advantage in defensive rebounds. Ruskon-Mordovia looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Center Vladimir Lidyaev (203-87) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 10 rebounds (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field). Guard Dmitriy Zagnoyko (196-85) contributed with 21 points and 5 assists for the winners. Four Ruskon-Mordovia players scored in double figures. Stanislav Dubinin (198-90) answered with 14 points and point guard Maksim Lisaev (177-93) added 13 points in the effort for Arsenal. Arsenal's coach Viktor Uskov gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. Ruskon-Mordovia have an impressive series of twelve victories in a row. Newly promoted Ruskon-Mordovia maintains first place with 14-1 record. Arsenal at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the eighth position with 11 games lost. Ruskon-Mordovia are again looking forward to face Arsenal (#8) in Tula in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Arsenal will have a break next round.
