Regular Season Round 8: PINKK-Pecsi - Cegledi EKK 83-61

Very important is a road loss of second ranked Cegledi EKK (6-2) against fifth ranked PINKK-Pecsi (5-3) on Sunday night. Visiting Cegledi EKK was crushed by PINKK-Pecsi in Pecs 83-61. The game without a history. PINKK-Pecsi led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Cegledi EKK's 30. The winners were led by Swedish forward Binta Drammeh (180-92) who scored that evening 39 points (!!!) and 6 rebounds and British power forward Chantelle Handy (188-87, college: Marshall) supported her with 14 points. Even 12 points, 9 assists and 4 steals by guard Dora Medgyessy (174-86) did not help to save the game for Cegledi EKK. Serbian Maja Skoric (185-89) added 13 points and 8 rebounds for the guests. Cegledi EKK's coach Laszlo Cziczas gave up on the game allowing to play ten players seeing no chance for a win. PINKK-Pecsi have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain fifth position with 5-3 record, which they share with PEAC-Pecs. Cegledi EKK at the other side still keeps top place with two games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. PINKK-Pecsi will play against Vasas Akademia (#9) in Budapest in the next round. Cegledi EKK will play on the road against the league's leader MKB Euroleasing (#1) in Sopron and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
