The most surprising game was the first loss of undefeated Sakhalin (8-1) on the court of fifth ranked TEMP-SUMZ Revda on Thursday night. Visitors were edged by TEMP-SUMZ Revda 83-81. They made 18-of-22 free shots (81.8 percent) during the game. TEMP-SUMZ Revda forced 22 Sakhalin turnovers. Strangely Sakhalin outrebounded TEMP-SUMZ Revda 41-28 including 29 on the defensive glass. 25 personal fouls committed by Sakhalin helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. It was a good game for point guard Anton Glazunov (181-86) who led his team to a victory with 23 points, 6 assists and 5 steals. Center Maksim Polyakov (206-84, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) contributed with 18 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. International Aleksandr Gudumak (203-93, agency: Alti Sport) replied with 12 points and 7 rebounds and the former international point guard Petr Samoylenko (185-77) added 11 points and 4 assists in the effort for Sakhalin. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. TEMP-SUMZ Revda (6-3) have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to third place, which they share with Parma. Newly promoted Sakhalin still keeps top position with one game lost. TEMP-SUMZ Revda is looking forward to face Universitet-Yugra (#8) in Surgut in the next round where they are favorite. Sakhalin will play on the road against Novosybirsk (#4) and is hoping to win this game.
