Regular Season Round 6: KK Zagreb - Zlatorog 72-73

The most exciting game of round 6 in the Alpe Adria Cup took place in Zagreb. This derby game ended with only one-point home defeat of 6th ranked Croatian KK Zagreb (4-4) to eighth ranked Slovenian Zlatorog (2-6) 73-72 on Wednesday evening. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 21-15. But KK Zagreb won second period 20-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was power forward Goran Jurak (202-77) who scored 31 points and 4 assists. Guard Miha Vasl (192-92) chipped in 11 points and 5 rebounds. Zlatorog's coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was swingman Pavle Marcinkovic (199-89, agency: Alti Sport) who recorded 16 points and 7 rebounds and Bosnian forward Miralem Halilovic (205-91, agency: Alti Sport) added 13 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists respectively. Four KK Zagreb players scored in double figures. Zlatorog maintains eighth position with 2-6 record. KK Zagreb at the other side dropped to the second place with four games lost. They share the position with Helios and Levice. Zlatorog will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. KK Zagreb will play at home against Dukes and is hoping to win this game.
