Very expected game when 12th ranked Izhevsk (2-8) was defeated at home by sixth ranked Samara-SGEU (7-5) 86-72. Samara-SGEU outrebounded Izhevsk 35-19 including a 14-2 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a very good performance for forward Dmitriy Arteshin (201-89, agency: Alti Sport) who helped to win the game recording 21 points and 5 rebounds. Center Alexey Kurtsevich (210-89) contributed with 14 points and 8 rebounds (perfect from the field making all six shots) for the winners. Four Samara-SGEU players scored in double figures. Forward Maxim Starovenov (202-90) answered with 21 points (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field) and forward Vladimir Belov (207-84) added 14 points in the effort for Izhevsk. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Samara-SGEU moved-up to fourth place, which they share with TEMP-SUMZ. Izhevsk at the other side dropped to the bottom position with eight games lost. Samara-SGEU will have a break next round. Izhevsk will play at home against Khimky-Podmoskoye (#9) and hope to win that game.
