Regular Season Round 12: Kormend - Szolnok 89-78

Round 12 in A Division means a new league leader. The biggest surprise took place in Kormend where host Kormend (9-3) beat league's leader Szolnok (9-3) 89-78 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Szolnok. It was a key game for the top position in the league. The hosts trailed by 6 points after first quarter, but they stormed back to get the 8-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 89-78. 26 personal fouls committed by Szolnok helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The best player for the winners was American point guard Kendrick Perry (183-92, college: Youngstown St.) who scored 20 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Dutch-Australian power forward Josh Duinker (209-89, college: Richmond) chipped in 18 points and 8 rebounds. Four Kormend players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was international swingman David Vojvoda (196-90) who recorded 21 points and 5 assists and Serbian forward Strahinja Milosevic (202-85) added 17 points respectively. Szolnok will play next round against KTE-Duna Aszfalt trying to make it back to the top of the standings.
