Regular Season Round 12: UMMC - Kazanochka 91-42

PBL top team - UMMC Ekaterinburg (12-0) had no problems winning another game on Tuesday. This time they crushed ninth ranked Kazanochka (2-10) 91-42. UMMC Ekaterinburg dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Kazanochka's 18. UMMC Ekaterinburg forced 24 Kazanochka turnovers and outrebounded them 42-29 including a 33-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. Worth to mention a quality performance of Spanish forward Alba Torrens (188-89) who helped to win the game recording 15 points, 5 assists and 6 steals and French center Sandrine Gruda (193-87, agency: Comsport) who added 15 points and 8 rebounds during the contest. UMMC Ekaterinburg's coach Olaf Lange felt very confident using 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The best for the losing side was American power forward Sarah Boothe (195-90, college: Stanford) with 14 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Viktoriya Plohih (165-92) scored 6 points. UMMC Ekaterinburg have an impressive 12-game winning streak. Defending champion maintains first position with 12-0 record. Kazanochka lost third consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the tenth place with ten games lost. They share the position with Dyn.-GUVD. UMMC Ekaterinburg are looking forward to face MBA (#7) in Moscow in the next round where they are favorite. Kazanochka will play on the road against Spartak Noginsk and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
