Regular Season Round 11: PINKK-Pecsi - Atomeromu 70-74

There was a minor upset when 5th ranked PINKK-Pecsi (7-4) was defeated at home by seventh ranked Atomeromu (5-6) 74-70. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 24-17. But PINKK-Pecsi won second period 20-17. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The game was decided in the last minutes when Atomeromu won last quarter 18-16. Atomeromu outrebounded PINKK-Pecsi 45-33 including 17 on the offensive glass. It was an exceptional evening for Serbian guard Maja Scekic (169-87, agency: IPSA) who led the winners and scored 17 points and 5 assists. American center Jade Barber (191-89, college: E.Kentucky) accounted for 11 points and 13 rebounds for the winning side. Four Atomeromu players scored in double figures. Swedish forward Binta Drammeh (180-92) came up with 22 points and 7 rebounds (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!) and American center Cierra Joenell Robertson-Warren (193, college: Louisville) added 16 points and 6 rebounds respectively for PINKK-Pecsi in the defeat. PINKK-Pecsi's coach Sandro Orlando tried various players' combinations and tested in total twelve players in this game, but that didn't help. Atomeromu maintains seventh place with 5-6 record. PINKK-Pecsi at the other side keeps the fifth position with four games lost. They share it with PEAC-Pecs. Atomeromu will play against league's second-placed UNI Gyor on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. PINKK-Pecsi will play against the league's leader MKB Euroleasing and will have a slim chance for a victory.
