Regular Season Round 13: Falco KC - Kormend 73-69

The game between second ranked Kormend (9-4) and seventh ranked Falco KC (8-5) was the most important one in the last round on Saturday night. Kormend was defeated by Falco KC in a tough game in Szombathely 69-73. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Kormend. The hosts trailed by 8 points at the halftime before their 26-13 charge in the third quarter, which allowed them to win the game. Worth to mention a great performance of international guard Benedek Varadi (195-95) who helped to win the game recording 21 points. Canadian power forward Ryan Wright (206-87, college: Oklahoma) contributed with 13 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. Four Falco KC players scored in double figures. Falco KC's coach Laszlo Kalman used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American point guard Wesley Channels (190-88, college: Austin Peay St.) answered with 16 points and 8 rebounds and American-Guinea-Bissau point guard Perry Petty (185-88, college: UTRGV) added 19 points in the effort for Kormend. Falco KC moved-up to sixth place, which they share with Sopron KC. Kormend at the other side dropped to the third position with four games lost. They share it with ZTE KK and Alba. Falco KC is looking forward to face KTE-Duna Aszfalt (#11) in Kecskemet in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Kormend will play at home against Szedeak (#10) and is hoping to win this game.
