Regular Season Round 15: MBA Moscow - Univ.Surgut 70-76

Very expected game when 10th ranked MBA Moscow (4-8) lost at home to sixth ranked Universitet-Yugra (8-5) 76-70. Universitet-Yugra made 20-of-22 charity shots (90.9 percent) during the game. They also forced 19 MBA Moscow turnovers. They brought some defensive toughness making 7 blocks. It was a great evening for Serbian Nikola Lepojevic (195-82, agency: BeoExcell) who led his team to a victory scoring 24 points (went 12 for 12 at the free throw line !!!). Ukrainian point guard Pavlo Burenko (187-90) helped adding 14 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. The best for the losing side was Ivan Vadeev (200-93) with 13 points and 8 rebounds and power forward Alexei Kuznetsov (205-84) scored 12 points and 8 rebounds. Four MBA Moscow players scored in double figures. MBA Moscow's coach Alexander Afanasyev rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Universitet-Yugra. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Samara-SGEU. MBA Moscow at the other side dropped to the ninth position with eight games lost. They share it with Khimky-Podmos.. Universitet-Yugra will play against league's leader Sakhalin in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. MBA Moscow will play on the road against Spartak-Prim. (#8) in Vladivostok and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
