Regular Season Round 11: Bellinzona - Fribourg 62-87

Date: January 9, 2016
LNA top team - Fribourg (9-0) had no problems winning another game on Saturday. This time they crushed fifth ranked Bellinzona (4-6) 87-62. The game without a history. Fribourg led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. It was a great shooting night for Fribourg especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 58.8 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Bellinzona's players. It was a quality performance for American guard Jazmine Davis (170-15, college: Washington, agency: LBM Management) who led the winners and scored 28 points, 8 rebounds and 8 assists. Her fellow American import power forward Toccara Ross (184-86, college: Iowa St.) accounted for 21 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side. Naturalized Cuban forward Luisa Avila Lopez (183-90) came up with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 14 rebounds and American guard Khaalidah Miller (175-92, college: Georgia) added 17 points and 5 assists respectively for Bellinzona in the defeat. Four Bellinzona players scored in double figures. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the ninth consecutive win for Fribourg. Despite that victory Fribourg went down to second position due to points difference. Loser Bellinzona keeps the fifth place with six games lost. Fribourg will meet Winterthur (#7) in the next round which should be theoretically another easy game. Bellinzona will play against Lancy and hope to secure a win.
