Regular Season Round 15: Khimky-Podmos. - Samara-SGEU 74-86

No shocking result in a game when sixth ranked Samara-SGEU (8-5) beat on the road 9th ranked Khimky-Podmoskoye (4-8) 86-74. They outrebounded Khimky-Podmoskoye 45-17 including a 25-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great evening for forward Dmitriy Arteshin (201-89, agency: Alti Sport) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 13 rebounds. Point guard Alexandr Varnakov (185-92) helped adding 17 points and 6 assists. The best for the losing side was forward Denis Levshin (202-93) with 24 points and Aleksandr Zakharov (203-93, agency: Beo Basket) scored 15 points. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for Samara-SGEU. They moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Univ.Surgut. Khimky-Podmoskoye at the other side keeps the ninth position with eight games lost. They share it with MBA Moscow. Samara-SGEU will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Khimky-Podmoskoye will play on the road against the league's second-placed Ryazan (#2) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
