Regular Season Round 23: UMMC Junior - Rostov 75-66

Rather expected game in Ekaterinburg where 7th ranked BC Rostov (7-12) was defeated by fifth ranked UMMC Junior (11-8) 75-66. UMMC Junior dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to BC Rostov's 32. It was an exceptional evening for forward Daria Shomodi (184-95) who led the winners and scored 11 points and 8 rebounds. Forward Anastasiya Levinskaya (184-95) accounted for 11 points and 6 rebounds for the winning side. Four UMMC Junior players scored in double figures. Forward Yana Kotova (186-88) came up with 18 points and 7 rebounds and point guard Evgenia Oksner (165-90) added 15 points and 5 rebounds respectively for BC Rostov in the defeat. Both coaches tested many bench players saving starting five for next games. The victory was the third consecutive win for UMMC Junior. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with MBA-2. BC Rostov at the other side keeps the seventh position with 12 games lost. UMMC Junior will again play against BC Rostov (#7) at home in the next round. BC Rostov will have a break next round.
