Regular Season Round 24: UMMC Junior - Rostov 67-74

Another exciting game was played in Ekaterinburg between seventh ranked BC Rostov and 4th ranked UMMC Junior where BC Rostov (8-12) won against UMMC Junior (11-9) on the road 74-67. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of UMMC Junior. They outrebounded UMMC Junior 46-31 including a 30-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. UMMC Junior was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for forward Yana Kotova (186-88) who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 23 points and 10 rebounds. Forward Anastasia Maksimova (182-92, agency: IPSA) contributed with 16 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. Forward Olga Lavrova (182-95) replied with 13 points and point guard Elizaveta Komarova (172-95, agency: LBM Management) added 10 points and 4 steals in the effort for UMMC Junior. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. BC Rostov maintains seventh position with 8-12 record. UMMC Junior at the other side keeps the fourth place with nine games lost. They share the position with Voronezh and MBA-2. BC Rostov will play against higher ranked Neftyanik (#3) in Omsk in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. UMMC Junior will play at home against Stavropol and hopes to get back on the winning track.
