Regular Season Round 24: Voronezh - Ladoga SP 77-66

There was no surprise when 10th ranked Ladoga SP (3-17) was defeated on the road by sixth ranked Voronezh-SKIF (11-9) 77-66 on Tuesday. Voronezh-SKIF dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Ladoga SP's 34. Voronezh-SKIF forced 20 Ladoga SP turnovers. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Voronezh-SKIF made 8 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of center Yuliya Garkavskaya (203-91) who helped to win the game recording 25 points and 8 rebounds and power forward Galina Litvinenko (186-83) who added 18 points and 4 assists during the contest. Four Voronezh-SKIF players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was Ekaterina Zhibareva with 24 points and 6 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) and guard Nadezhda Burenkova (174-90) scored 19 points and 8 rebounds. Voronezh-SKIF have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with UMMC Junior and MBA-2. Ladoga SP lost eighth consecutive game.
