Regular Season Round 17: Rusichi K. - Kirov 82-85

Important game to mention about took place in Kursk. Fourth ranked Kirov (10-8) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging 3rd placed Rusichi K. (11-7) 85-82 on Wednesday evening. Kirov made 23-of-29 charity shots (79.3 percent) during the game. They also forced 25 Rusichi K. turnovers and outrebounded them 45-33 including a 34-23 advantage in defensive rebounds. Kirov players were unselfish on offense dishing 23 assists. Rusichi K. was plagued by 28 personal fouls down the stretch. Nikita Burkov stepped up with a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!), 11 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!) for the winners and power forward Anatoliy Goritskov (211-83, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) chipped in 9 points and 15 rebounds. Four Kirov players scored in double figures. Forward Anton Belov (202-81) responded with a double-double by scoring 32 points, 14 rebounds and 8 blocks and point guard Kazulin Denis (183-91) scored 21 points and 4 assists. Kirov have a solid series of three victories in a row. Newly promoted Kirov maintains fourth place with 10-8 record. Rusichi K. at the other side, also newcomer in the league, keeps the third position with seven games lost. Kirov will play against Sogdiana-Skif (#6) in Voronezh in the next round. Rusichi K. will play at home against Tegas DR and hopes to get back on the winning track.
