Regular Season Round 26: Cheboksari - Stroitiel Engels 75-78

The most exciting game of round 26 in the Superleague 2 took place in Cheboksari. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of 3rd ranked Cheboksari (13-8) to sixth ranked Stroitiel Engels (11-13) 78-75 on Thursday evening. Stroitiel Engels forced 20 Cheboksari turnovers. 31 personal fouls committed by Cheboksari helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Swingman Vladislav Lotarev (191-88) scored 22 points and 8 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and guard Victor Zvarykin (198-86) chipped in 15 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Center Artem Pugachev (208-88) responded with a double-double by scoring 16 points and 10 rebounds and guard Pavel Kolcov (180-94) scored 10 points and 6 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Newly promoted Stroitiel Engels maintains sixth position with 11-13 record, which they share with Jaroslav. Cheboksari at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the fourth place with eight games lost. Stroitiel Engels is looking forward to face league's second-placed AltajBasket in Barnau in the next round and it may be quite challenging game. Cheboksari will play on the road against Sojuz Zaretchny and is hoping to win this game.
