Regular Season Round 25: Voronezh - MBA-2 76-74

The most exciting game of round 25 in the Superleague took place in Voronezh. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of 5th ranked MBA-2 (11-10) to fourth ranked Voronezh-SKIF (12-9) 76-74 on Friday evening. Voronezh-SKIF forced 24 MBA-2 turnovers. 25 personal fouls committed by MBA-2 helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of swingman Ekaterina Nechepaeva (182-88) who helped to win the game recording 26 points and 8 rebounds (made all of her seven free throws). Center Yuliya Garkavskaya (203-91) contributed with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 13 rebounds for the winners. Center Nina Glonti (188-97) answered with 16 points, 9 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals and point guard Yulia Kozik (176-97) added 15 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for MBA-2. MBA-2's coach Alexander Mikhaylyuk rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Voronezh-SKIF have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain fourth place with 12-9 record, which they share with UMMC Junior. MBA-2 lost fifth consecutive game. Newly promoted team dropped to the sixth position with ten games lost. Voronezh-SKIF is again looking forward to face MBA-2 (#6) in Moscow in the next round. MBA-2 will have a break next round.
